Assuming that the psychotherapeutic process helps enhance self-knowledge and, consequently, develop greater self-support to face life’s adversities, therapy is an experience suitable for any person.
Frequently, people seek help from a psychologist when in distress, anxious, or with a certain sadness, sometimes not understanding the causes. Some events generate a lot of pain and fear, as in ruptures of significant relationships such as separations, children leaving the “nest,” or the death of a loved one.
In addition, maternity, retirement, emigration, career choice/relocation, or a severe illness are examples of situations in which therapy is sought more frequently.
However, regardless of the issue or moment of life, the important thing is to seek support at a time when you feel at a standstill, in emotional distress, wanting to overcome or understand something.
